The Colorado Painting Company is a fully licensed and insured professional painting contractor, serving the Denver area. Residential and commercial, interior and exterior–we can paint anything you throw at us. Our team is top-tier and we put priority on customer service and ongoing training. We love getting into the nitty gritty details and science of why and how painting techniques and practices work to benefit the customer and painter alike. And we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality finishes around.

We can nerd out on the details and love to provide premier, top-notch work, but we don’t think that only a certain few deserve that kind of outcome. Our History

Sam Manges, owner and head paint mixer at The Colorado Painting Company, was inspired to start the business after a previous run as a successful painting contractor in Colorado. He was a partner for five years, but this time he opted to go it alone so that he could focus on building the business to the high level of quality he had always envisioned. 

Sam knew that he could level up the training and expertise of his team, compared with what he had seen thus far in the industry. It seemed like folks were given the tools and it was assumed that they knew the ins and outs of the job–everyone has painted their living room at some point, right? Sam knew the stakes, and knew that he could build a business that excelled, because he would prioritize training while keeping costs low. He’d then pass on the savings and professionalism to the clients. What’s not to love?

The long and short of our story is that Sam Manges loves painting and how it beautifies and brings happiness to his clients’ worlds. That joy and passion can be seen and felt in every aspect of The Colorado Painting Company and they will always aim to be one of the top painting contractors in Colorado.

Sam’s wife, his partner in life and a talented graphic designer, helped him to develop several versions of the logo for his new business, and things took off from there. The imagery of the logo, the company’s mission statement, and their overall vibe is taken from the much-loved United States National Parks system. This is about protecting and preserving for future generations, whether we’re talking about wild spaces or successional homes and businesses.

Our Mission

The Colorado Painting Company’s official mission statement is “to protect and uphold the authenticity of the professional painting industry and its elements, ensuring their maintenance to honor and inspire present and future generations.” 

A little grandiose sounding for a small painting company in Denver? Perhaps. But it gets to the heart of why we love what we do, and why we aim high each and every day. Besides our big goals for the painting industry at large, we’re also out to better our employees’ and our own families and lives, while also doing what we can for our communities.

There are a few core values that we hold dear and that inform all we do. These serve as the foundation for our business and company culture. Truth. Trust. Care. Forgiveness. Respect.

One leads to the next, and without any one of these pillars, we’d be less than we want to be.

Sometimes it takes humility, self-reflection, and an open ear and closed mouth to fully embrace these principles, but that’s what we try to do every day, whether we’re dealing with coworkers, employees, clients, subcontractors, family or friends. The way we treat one is the way we treat all–there’s simply no room for anything less. 

Sustainability and Community Involvement

We know full well that many of the products used in our industry are not friendly to our beloved Mother Earth. And if we’re going to draw on imagery and wording used by our National Park system, then we’d better be doing what we can to do less harm, right? 

We definitely strive to do what we can, and we’re always looking for ways to do and be better. As of right now, we strive to not use solvent-based products, and we are very mindful of selecting the safest possible paints and coatings to protect the health of our employees and clients. When we have excess paint, we are able to recycle many products through a company called GreenSheen, who then turns a waste product into new, usable paint. They’re doing a great thing and we’re proud and happy to work with them.

We’re also thrilled that there’s a paint supplier local to us that makes high-quality sealants that are safer for our workers to handle. The company also shares our values and treats their employees well, and we’re happy to support them. Building a local network of like-minded business owners is the best and most powerful way to effect change in your own neck of the woods.

Our interest in others translates into outreach into our community as well. From sponsoring local school fairs and community events, to volunteering and offering free spruce ups to local brick-and-mortar businesses, our aim is to help those around us in meaningful ways. If that help comes back to us in the form of a new client, so much better, but that’s just an unexpected perk. We’re really just putting ourselves out there, looking for ways to help.

Our Future

The goal was and is to create an environment where people really want to elevate their skills. That’s when a business grows itself naturally. When employees are motivated to perfect their craft and also learn how to better manage time and stress and everything else that comes with the job, they have a better time day in and out. And happier employees with an overall better sense of wellness are going to bring their entire selves to the table and offer the best quality work to clients. So we’re always aiming to take great care of our employees so that they can take the best care of our clients. 

It’s all about finding balance and building a culture that strives to educate and empower. So we're here to provide education and inspiration to the next generation and draw the right sorts of folks to the industry so it can become more sustainable going forward.
